Certifications
Certified Home Compostable — Australian Standard AS 5810-2010
Certificate # ABAP 20433
Lunchskins Compostable Food Wrap is independently certified by the Australasian Bioplastics Association under Australian Standard AS 5810-2010, an internationally recognized standard for home compostability.
TÜV Austria OK compost HOME
Certificate # TA8022509383
Our manufacturing partner holds TÜV Austria OK compost HOME certification covering our compostable food wrap. This internationally recognized certification verifies compliance with rigorous home-compostability requirements.
What Do These Certifications Mean?
Both certification programs evaluate materials against rigorous standards for home compostability, including:
- Biodegradability: Materials biodegrade under specified home composting conditions.
- Disintegration: Materials physically break down during the composting process.
- Environmental Safety: Testing evaluates potential harmful effects on plants and the composting environment.
- Heavy Metal Limits: Materials must meet strict limits for regulated heavy metals.
Unlike industrial composting, home composting does not require the elevated temperatures used in commercial composting facilities.
Together, these certifications provide independent, science-based evidence that our food wrap meets recognized home-compostability requirements.
