DISPOSABLE + PLANET-FRIENDLY
REUSE OVER AND OVER
Founder Kirsten Quigley knows life can be a balancing act between making a difference and getting out the door on time. Making choices that are good for you, your family, your wallet, and the planet can be tough, and it usually feels like something has to give. As a mother of four and lifetime environmentalist, she's experienced firsthand how everyday convenience doesn’t always play nicely with the bigger picture things we care about.
For over a decade, Lunchskins mission to help the world eliminate single-use plastic pollution has empowered people everywhere to make a difference every day with easy-to-use, affordable alternatives to plastic. Promoting global health and the welfare of all living things, Lunchskins continues to drive innovation and challenge industry standards in the food storage market.
Giving back is second nature to us. Lunchskins donates proceeds from every order to an extraordinary not-for-profit partner who helps the fight against plastic pollution in our oceans. Lunchskins brand products are manufactured by woman-owned business, 3Greenmoms, LLC, which designs, manufactures, markets, and distributes Lunchskins reusable and recyclable products through natural, specialty, gift, grocery, and mass market channels.
Lunchskins bags have been a hit since their inception, and have been featured by the press and won numerous awards, including the gold standard of quality assurance, the Parent Tested Parent Approved award.

Reusable Bag FAQs
Q: What are LunchSkins reusable bags made of?
A: Lunchskins are made from a proprietary quick drying fabric that is coated with a food-safe polyurethane liner. This unique high-quality fabric was originally manufactured for pastry bags used in bakeries, restaurants and home kitchens. Additionally, Lunchskins are grease-proof and moisture proof making them ideal for messy sandwiches and snacks.
Q: What are the recommended wash & care instructions for Lunchskins reusable bags?
A: Lunchskins reusable bags are top-rack dishwasher-safe. Turn bags inside out for washing. Please be sure to wash and dry your bags thoroughly before using or storing. We recommend air-drying the bags open to allow for appropriate airflow.
Q: Can you heat or freeze your Lunchskins reusable bags?
A: Freezer Safe
Lunchskins reusable zippered bags are freezer-safe and ideal for storing bagels and others dry goods.
We do not recommend the fridge or freezer for your Lunchskins Compostable + Unbleached Paper Bags. Some of our customers have had success using our Recyclable + Sealable Bags in the freezer.
Do NOT Heat
Lunchskins bags are not meant to be heated in the microwave or the oven.
Q: How long will my Lunchskins reusable bags last?
A: Some say forever and that's a mighty long time we're hear to tell you! So many of our Lunchskins fans send us emails and share photos with us on social media of their bags. We've seen photos of bags that are over 8 years old and still look brand new. While LunchSkins are extremely durable and can last for years, everyone’s care and daily use routines are different. If you find that you are in need of a Lunchskins bag refresh, don't throw the old ones out! Just retire them for other uses, like holding spare change, gift cards, small game pieces, school supplies, and extra stuff in your car, purse or backpack. Or, you can repurpose them—learn more at https://www.lunchskins.com/pages/repurpose.
Q: Will the inside (white) of my Lunchskins reusable bag discolor?
A: While Lunchskins are extremely durable and can last for years, Lunchskins are made from a quick-drying fabric, essentially they are still fabric. Too, the inside fabric is white, and white can discolor over time or when coming into contact with certain foods or other items in the dishwasher. We recommend spot treating any stains with dish soap and a small brush, or, washing them inside out in the washing machine.
Q: What makes LunchSkins food-safe?
A: All Lunchskins products have been rigorously tested by independent, third-party labs for the presence of lead, Bisphenol-A (BPA), and phthalates to comply with FDA-approved food-safe standards and to ensure the safety, quality and integrity of our bags. Lunchskins meets all federal and state (including California) consumer product safety standards.
Q: Are LunchSkins air-tight and suitable for long-term food storage?
A: Lunchskins reusable bags are not completely air-tight and thus not suitable for long-term food storage. They are perfect for on-the-go use and for foods that will be eaten the same day.
Q: Are Lunchskins reusable bags dishwasher-safe?
A: Yes, Lunchskins are top-rack dishwasher safe - simply turn the bags inside out, drape the bag over the tines. Because of their origins in the food industry, they are very durable and can withstand high heat cleaning. This makes them perfect for repeated use. We recommend that Lunchskins be washed before first use and, while lightweight and fast-drying, remove them from the dishwasher promptly and make sure they are dried completely before using with food.We recommend air-drying the bags open to allow for appropriate airflow.
In addition, we do not recommend storing food in Lunchskins for longer than a few hours in high humidity environments, like the refrigerator. Finally, expect Lunchskins to soften and fade with use and multiple washings - just like a pair of favorite old jeans.
Q: Can I wash my Lunchskins reusable bags in the washing machine?
A: Yes, Lunchskins can be used in your washing machine. We recommend turning them inside out and washing them in a cold water cycle. We do NOT recommend putting them in the dryer. Please allow them to thoroughly dry before using them. We recommend air-drying the bags open to allow for appropriate airflow.
Q: Are Lunchskins just for food?
A: We don’t think so. Lunchskins are a great for many things because they offer the same convenience as a familiar plastic baggie, but are easily washable and durable for a range of uses. The design is based on that of common zippered baggies, so a traditional pb&j sandwich fits perfectly within the 6 x 6 inch pouch; cookies, crackers and fruit fit nicely within the snack size; and the big size will hold a stuffed hoagie. They have so many practical and creative uses. Here is what our customers tell us........lipsticks, dog treats, wallet and keys, ice for boo-boos, pacifiers, baby toiletries, travel cosmetic case, and any other treats or loose messy items we want to fashionably stash away.
Q: Will my kids bring them home?
A: Yes, but take a few steps to help them. First, personalize your Lunchskins with a permanent marker on the nameplate. Remind the little ones that Lunchskins are not trash, only their leftovers are.
Q: Why are Lunchskins considered a green product?
A: To be worthy of the term "green", a product must offer some environmental benefit. Here is how Lunchskins stack up: our bags replace single-use bags that end up in landfills. The plastic sandwich bags you've used for years take up space in landfills and often end up in the waterways where your family loves to swim. Each Lunchskin reusable bag is produced only once but can be used hundreds of times thereby reducing pollution and waste. 1 Lunchskins Bag = 500+ Plastic Bags!
Paper Bags + Straws FAQs
Q: Are Lunchskins Paper Products FSC-Certified?
Yes. Lunchskins paper bags and straws are FSC-Certified (FSC® C163845)
Q: Do the paper bags or straws contain any BPAs, PFAs, PFO's, or other toxins?
At Lunchskins, we’re committed to reducing plastic pollution, which is why we designed our Paper Bags + Straws are free of toxins including: BPAs, Lead, Phthalates, PFOs and PFAs.
Q: How long do the paper bags take to decompose?
We cannot advise the exact amount of time that it will take for our paper bags to decompose in your home composting process. However, on average it can take 2 weeks to 3 months. There are a lot of variables to the decomposition time, but, you can do certain things to speed up that process.
The amount of time the paper takes to decompose varies. For example, if the temperature drops to freezing, the paper won't decompose. Mixing items like banana peels, bread and strawberries, which mold quickly, with the paper increases the rate of decomposition. Worms will also make the process occur faster.
Q: What are the paper bags made from?
A: Lunchskins Recyclable + Sealable Paper Bags are made from all natural glassine — a translucent but very durable form of paper from FSC-Certified forests.
Lunchskins Compostable +Unbleached Paper Bags are made from 100% FSC-Certified Kraft paper.
Q: What kind of ink is used to print the paper bags designs?
A: We are proud to use food-safe, non-toxic water-soluble inks to print the designs on both the Glassine + Kraft paper Bags. Water-soluble inks are safe for direct contact with food.
Q: How much food can I fit in the paper bags?
A: Lunchskins Glassine + Kraft Paper sandwich bags are designed to hold one average sandwich, pastry, or large cookie. Our glassine quart size bags are designed to hold bigger food items.
Q: How long will long will the paper bags keep my food fresh?
A: Provided they are properly sealed and stored in a cool lunchbox or bag, the Glassine + Kraft Paper Bags will keep food fresh for hours.
Q: Can I use the paper bags in the freezer?
A: Yes. Our Recyclable + Sealable Glassine paper bags (Shark, Apple and Green Stripe) are perfect for short-term freezer shortage.
Pro Tip: Prep your favorite smoothie ingredients, pack and freeze in your Lunchskins Recyclable + Sealable Paper bag. Then in the morning, throw in your smoothie pack into the blender and add your favorite liquid (we go for the almond milk, juice or coconut water).
Q: Can I microwave the paper bags?
A: Yes. Our paper bags are Microwave-safe (1000W (or less) microwave). Microwave for up to 2 Mins. Heating beyond 2 minutes is NOT recommended!
Q: Can I put greasy or watery foods in the paper bag?
A: While Lunchskins Paper Bags are grease-resistant, we do NOT recommend placing watery foods in our Lunchskins Paper Bags.
Q: Are the peel-away strip and the stickers plastic?
A: Both the removable peel-away strip and the stickers are recyclable. We do however, recommend before disposing that you check with your local facility/center.
Q: Are the stickers in my box?
A: Yes. Your stickers can be found under all of the bags on the bottom of the box.
